Imagine walking into an adidas store, running on a treadmill for a few minutes and instantly getting a 3D-printed running shoe. 🙀 This is the goal of the 3D-printed midsole Adidas is quickly working towards. Creating a flexible, fully breathable carbon copy of the athlete’s own footprint, matching exact foot patterns and pressure points. It will set the athlete up for the best running experience. Linked with existing data sourcing and foot scan technologies, it opens unique opportunities for immediate in-store fittings. Check the photos below to see some of the prototypes that Adidas have already created using this new 3D printing technique.
